The first Ziu was elected in the April 1985 General Election, which despite being hailed as "the first successful, democratic and multi party election in Talossa" actually had a predetermined outcome, as Robert I wanted Ián von Metáiriâ to lead the next government. The King declared that any citizen failing to vote would be counted as a vote for his puppet party RPR, which ultimately got the second most seats behind the mainline Progressive Conservatives; as such, his two parties combined commanded a majority of the First Cosă.
