34RZ17 - The German Amendment

Whereas, in the course of German history, free elections allowed the rise to power of the Nazi party, bent on crushing free speech and the mass-expulsion of those who disagreed with their narrow-minded and self-serving vision of German purity, and

Whereas, in the course of Talossan history, we have shared the same experience as our German brethren, and

Whereas, after 1945, the German People wisely prevented the return of fascist groups by enacting guarantees in their Basic Law (constitution); therefore:

The Ziu hereby approves, and sends to the people for their decision in a referendum, the following Amendment to the Organic Law, modeled after the Basic Law (Constitution) of the Federal Republic of Germany:

Article VI, Section 3. Political parties that, by reason of their aims or the behaviour of their adherents, seek to undermine or abolish the equal rights of all law-abiding Talossans, to pirate or assist in the piracy of the copyrighted materials or trademarked name of Talossa, or to endanger the very existence of Talossa, are inorganic and may not participate in the electoral process.

The Uppermost Cort decides on the question of inorganicity upon a complaint from the Attorney General. After a party has been ruled inorganic, it becomes illegal to set up a new organization to pursue the inorganic aims of the original party. Details are regulated by laws of the Ziu.
