The Chess King is given full Royal and ceremonial power to grant titles of nobility, declare national holidays, and make the Speech from the Chess Thrown on the 31st of May (the anniversary of the first tournament). In addition, the Chess King can do anything else he sees as relevant to the well-being of chess in Talossa.
Art. 13b. The Chess King shall be the most recent winner of an official Talossan Chess Tournament. A tournament is official if it is approved by more than half the Cosa, announced by the Prime Minister through a Prime Dictate, or Royally Decreed by the Chess King. Tournaments should be held at least once a year.
Art. 13c. If the King/Regent of Talossa decides that the Chess King is not acting in the best interests of Talossa, he can depose the Chess King or veto any of his actions.
